E2 Op-Ed: Boston native McCarthy seeks pragmatic solutions

As the recently confirmed head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Boston native Gina McCarthy faces her greatest challenge yet: implementing President Obama’s groundbreaking Climate Action Plan.

The plan will reduce one of the biggest sources of climate change — carbon pollution from power plants — while generating more clean, renewable energy. If we fail to properly implement strong policies now, we will squander major economic opportunities and create unnecessary health and financial risks.
